A richer life, by different measures…

Most people are taught to want more.

More money, more status, more upward movement, more proof that their life is heading in the “right” direction.

Sabina Karr chose something else.

In our latest episode of Portraits of Another Life, we spend time with Sabina, an alpaca breeder in Placer County, California, whose life today is built around animals, observation, responsibility, and a different definition of richness. Before this chapter, she had a long career in healthcare — first in the military, then as a nurse practitioner and physician assistant. By any conventional standard, she was successful. But what’s so compelling about her story is that she was willing to move in the opposite direction of what many people are taught to chase. As she puts it, most careers are about making more and more money, but she wanted the opposite. She wanted quality of life.
